Characteristics of the rooibos profile are classified as honey, rooibos-woody, fynbos-floral, fruity-sweet with caramel and apricot notes coupled with a slightly sweet taste and astringent mouthfeel.

Up to six cups of Rooibos tea is recommended for optimal benefits, each cup brewed for 4 minutes, but to optimally extract the antioxidants, brew for 10 minutes.

Rooibos

Why WorthWild

is the best

Very High Antioxidants

The main nutritional benefit of rooibos tea lies in its rich antioxidant content, and it is a source of some unique micronutrients called polyphenols. Aspalathin, a polyphenol only found in rooibos tea, will help boost immunity while also helping to protect against the free radical damage that leads to conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and potentially deadly cancer.

Heart Health

Consumption of Rooibos significantly improves the lipid profile (cholesterol and triglycerides) and the oxidant/antioxidant balance relevant to heart disease in adults at risk for developing cardiovascular disease. Rooibos may also help to protect the heart by improving blood circulation, blood pressure, and cholesterol.

NO calories

Rooibos tea contains no calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, or sugar.

Lower Stress levels

Rooibos tea lowers the body's production of cortisol – the "stress hormone." Lowering cortisol levels, in turn, reduces the effect of the body's stress response.

Regulates blood sugar

Aspalathin is a polyphenol unique to Rooibos that helps to keep blood sugar levels stable. Aspalathin enhances insulin activity, the hormone that controls blood sugar levels, by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, which underlie the development of metabolic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Anti-Inflammatory

Chronic inflammation is associated with a higher risk of cancer, heart disease, and many other conditions. Rooibos tea contains many polyphenols that act as scavengers of free radicals throughout the body, which are detrimental byproducts of cell metabolism that can cause inflammation.

Caffeine-free

Rooibos is 100% naturally caffeine-free and has a soothing effect. The benefits of lower cortisol production and the lack of caffeine make it an excellent natural sleep aid with a calming, relaxing effect.

Supports vital functions

Rooibos aids digestion supports bladder, liver, and kidney function.

Bone Health

Rooibos is beneficial for building and maintaining bone strength. Studies report that Rooibos tea has beneficial effects on osteoblasts, the cells involved with building bone, and an inhibitory effect on osteoclast activity, the cells which break down bone.

Very low in tannins

Rooibos contains minimal tannins, and as a result, do not interfere with iron absorption. In addition, Rooibos does not have the astringent taste associated with most other teas.

Traditional Uses

Traditionally, Rooibos has been used for its medicinal properties in South Africa to help alleviate allergies, asthma, dermatological conditions, and infantile colic.
